#2: “It happens sometimes”
Legend has it that Steven King claims this 1986 rendition of Stand By Me was the best adaptation of his work he’d ever seen. It’s easy to see why, as anyone over the age of 40 who has watched the movie can viscerally feel their own childhood on screen.

This bridge, located on Eagle Mount Lane in Burney, California, is nearly as iconic as the railroad tracks the boys walk down. The dynamic quartet would go down in history as some of the best childhood actors of the ‘80s. Corey Feldman, River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, and Jerry O’Connell would continue to make movies for years. Sadly, River Phoenix passed away at age 23 in 1993.
