#16: “Are you alone?” “Isn’t everybody?”
Considered an homage to film noir with superb cinematography, Chinatown came out in 1974, starring Jack Nicholson six years before his role in The Shining. Faye Dunaway co-starred, making this an unforgettable film withstanding the test of time, much like the bridge below. Sadly, the trash pile speaks volumes about the state of America in the past 40 years.

While Paul S. doesn’t mention the location of this particular underpass on his website, it’s believed to be somewhere in California, as the entire film was shot in Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Hollywood Hills. Hopefully, someone sees this and sets out to solve the mystery with a clean-up crew.
