Waterloo Veteran

Let’s journey back to the hallowed grounds of the Battle of Waterloo, that historic clash of titans on June 18, 1815. On one side, an Allied army commanded by the indomitable Wellington and the formidable Leberecht von Blücher; on the other, Napoleon Bonaparte’s empire with its legions of soldiers.

The final living link to that epic confrontation, Pierre Picton, took his leave in 1921 at the venerable age of 109. Yet, the legacy of these valiant veterans lives on, embodied in the resplendent Waterloo Medal. This medal, bestowed upon every British and Allied warrior who stood unwavering at that fateful battle, serves as a timeless symbol of valor and fortitude.
