When it comes to casual work, most of the time, you will be sent your shifts for the week and show up according to the list you were given. If someone didn’t know about a particular shift and therefore didn’t show up, then it is the fault of the person that sent the shifts in the first place, not the employee…

This was never about this person missing a shift… Apparently, this is what the owners of this workplace do with any workers under 18. Exploitation can come in many different shapes and sizes, and more often than not, the people it targets don’t know their rights or how to avoid these situations.
