Goodbye, Old Friend

As a kid, there are certain markers in life that make things seem normal and good. These things can be physical things like the swingset you have always had in your backyard, to knowing you are having spaghetti bolognese every Wednesday night until you graduate high school.

So when you see the tree you planted 20 years earlier be uprooted from a storm in your backyard, it can make you feel all sorts of things. One of those things is probably that you now have to deal with this massive uprooted tree in your backyard.
