The Descendants made a wave and even won an Oscar; Shailene Woodley was a co-star in the movie, along with George Clooney. After that, fans expected to see more of the young and promising actress. She received the lead role in the sci-fi movie Divergent, which unfortunately ended up being a flop, as it received a lot of criticism inside and outside the industry.

Directors must have been pretty unimpressed by the movie, and it looked like no one was willing to give her a chance to redeem herself. In 2017, she received a leading role in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies, but we haven’t seen much of her on the big screen apart from that.
