Keeping It in the Family

If there’s one thing that we can all agree on, it’s that “keeping it in the family” is not at all acceptable. However, internationally, it’s much more frequent than many of us would like to admit. In fact, around 10% of international marriages take place between cousins, whether it’s first or second.

In almost all of these cases, these individuals are aware that they’re marrying someone they’re related to. However, I’m really not sure how this public defender didn’t realize what was going on. Didn’t they ever see this woman at family gatherings or events? How could they not notice their girlfriend was their cousin?!
