#23: Mmm, Chicken Soup
Did your mom always make you chicken noodle soup when you were under the weather as a kid? That’s likely a habit that stuck with you into adulthood so that you automatically reach for your favorite can the second you begin to feel a few sniffles. As it turns out, that’s all for an excellent reason!

Chicken soup can minimize your illness; it helps clear congestion and other cold symptoms. Part of the reason is that it’s very high in protein, so it boosts your immune system, helping it fight off your virus. And there’s no denying how soothing it feels on your sore throat. Sometimes, even just a mug of chicken broth is effective.
