#22: Poppin’ Pepper
If you’re a fan of bell peppers, you’re lucky to have so many different kinds to choose from. You may have your favorite color of bell pepper, but hands down, red is the healthiest. That’s because they stay on the vine longer than the other colors, so it has time to develop more nutrients.

Red peppers have nearly 11 times more betacarotene than green ones and one and a half the amount of vitamin C! They are also fantastic for anti-inflammatory purposes; that’s thanks to the chemical compound they contain called capsaicin. One-half cup of red bell pepper gives you 47% of your daily intake of vitamin A. That’s crazy!
