Parakeet or Sparrow?

Ah, Michigan, the land of lakes, the birthplace of Motown, and apparently, the land of fake parakeets. It’s good to know that the Michigan government is looking out for all aspiring parakeet owners. According to recent statistics, Michigan has a surprisingly high number of parakeet owners – more than most other states.

So, it’s no wonder they take their bird-related laws seriously. But let’s be real, if someone is willing to go through the trouble of painting a sparrow to sell as a parakeet, they probably have bigger problems than just breaking the law. Why on earth would someone want to do this in the first place?!
