You aren’t the only one suffering from this, Jamie. I could go hiking six days a week, and while I will gain muscle, all my fat stays right where it is. Somehow, I end up weighing more when I work out instead of losing weight. I finally decided just to embrace it.

I keep reminding myself that this obsession with being thin is a new phenomenon and that for centuries rotund women were considered ideal. After two kids, I’ll never look the same as I did before, anyway, so I just no longer stress it. Embrace yourself! Be the plump partridge!
