Garbage disposals are perhaps the greatest thing about the modern world. You can toss old bits of food down the drain, and the garbage disposal will make sure your pipes don’t clog. However, if you leave old stuff down there, not only will they grow mold and bacteria. They might grow.

That’s what happened when someone was carving Jack-o-Lanterns for Halloween. They threw the seeds into the garbage disposal and forgot to turn it on. Thanks to all of the organic matter, the seed managed to sprout and make its way out of the garbage disposal in search of light.
