Geoffrey Rush and Mel Gibson

Geoffrey Rush and Mel Gibson were also roommates for about four months while they both studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, Australia. They also worked together in a production of Waiting for Godot and were trying to court the same woman. She chose Geoffrey Rush, for the record.

This picture was taken at the Black tie dinner for the Penfolds gala, which was held at the Century Plaza Hotel in 2005. It was the first event in a weeklong event called G’Day LA: Australia week. I suppose it makes sense for the two who spent time in Australia together to attend the event with one another!
