Kiefer Sutherland and Robert Downey Jr.

In 1988, Kiefer Stherland and Robert Downey Jr. worked together on the movie 1969, and afterwards they decided to move in together, along with Downey Jr’s then girlfriend, Sarah Jessica Parker. The three of them were close, and when the couple had rough times, Sarah Jessica Parker turned to Kiefer Sutherland as a strictly platonic shoulder to cry on.

I have to commend the trust and respect these two had for each other that Sutherland would remain a platonic shoulder to cry on, and the relationship wouldn’t evolve into something more. I also love the picture of them as younger men, it really screams summer to me. It was taken on the set of 1969.
