#5: A Hard-Working Heart
Your heart is a strong muscle that keeps you alive by pumping blood to your body and vital organs. Have you ever wondered just how much blood your heart pumps? It has been shown that our heart beats over 100,000 times in just one day. With each pump, liters of blood are sent throughout the body. If you were to add up these liters over the years of a person’s lifetime, you’d be looking at approximately 200 million liters of blood!

We’d say that the heart sure is working hard! We didn’t even mention exercise and other exertive activities where your heart is pumping faster than normal. Imagine just how much blood star athletes pump throughout their bodies in a single game or practice, an even in a single week where they get a lot of exercise.
