#44: Bugs on Our Eyelashes?
This fact might make you a bit squirmish if you do not have an affinity for insects or bugs. There are actually mites that live in our eyelashes. They are called demodex, also known as eyelash mites. We can’t see them so don’t go running for the mirrors. They are microscopic, but if you had an extreme close up, you’d see that they tend to stay close to your eyes.

In most cases, they are harmless. And yet, they can also cause or contribute to skin conditions and irritation. They tend to stay near the hair follicle and into the skin. We don’t know why they’re there and whether they serve any purpose, but we think the answer is no. To be completely honest. his fact made us squirm a bit!
