#4: The Pink Corner

Have you ever wondered about the pink corner of your eye and if it actually serves a purpose? To be honest, we haven’t – but hey, you learn something new every day. As it turns out, the pink corner has been researched quite a lot. It is thought to be similar to birds and reptiles’ eyes from long, long ago. Therefore, scientists have equated the pink color of the corner of our eyes to evolution.

If you look back millions of years ago, you would see that birds also had a similar pink corner. However, birds that are flying around today do not tend to have the pink corner any longer. When looking at evolution, it is a wonder if that pink corner served a purpose for those birds and reptiles it no longer exists on them today.
