#34: Our Livers Regenerate

Our livers are vital organs that are located within our bodies. This is a unique organ in that it will regrow after disease or injury. This is good news when it comes to liver disease, since there’s hope the organ will function properly after appropriate treatment, even if part of it needs to be cut out.

You can remove as much as three quarters of your liver and it will regrow to its original size over time. However, depending on the treatment, in some cases, the liver is unable to regenerate.
