#23: Tim Hortons
In 1964, NHL star Tim Horton teamed up with businessman Ron Joyce to open the first Tim Hortons in Hamilton, Ontario. Originally a small coffee and donut shop, it quickly became a community favorite, known for its freshly brewed coffee and signature donuts.

As word spread, the brand expanded, and by the 1970s, Joyce took the reins, turning it into a nationwide staple. With its iconic Timbits and “double-double” culture, Tim Hortons became more than a café—it became part of Canadian identity.
