#36: Please Listen to the Safety Demonstration

Though people definitely have a tendency to treat cabin crew as glorified waiters, we’re all hoping that in the case of an emergency, they’ll be the ones who get us all to safety. After all, they have the training, they have the years of experience, and they have the knowledge that will—we hope—get us all back to safety.

However, as this person points out, flight attendants are only as useful as their training makes them out to be. If they haven’t had a refresher course lately, they may have forgotten a lot of stuff. So make sure you pay attention during the safety briefing! I do find it very encouraging, though, this person was cabin crew for five years and never had to use their training.
