#40: Not At All Spooky
The Nagoro Doll Village, nestled in the remote valleys of Shikoku Island, Japan, is a place where the line between reality and surrealism blurs. This eerie village is inhabited by a mere 27 living humans, while an astonishing population of over 270 lifelike dolls dominates the landscape.

Ayano Tsukimi, the village’s artist and creator, embarked on this unusual endeavor to commemorate the memory of her fellow villagers who had moved away or passed on. Each doll, crafted by Tsukimi herself, eerily resembles former residents, giving the village a haunting atmosphere that has attracted curious visitors from around the world (and maybe scared some visitors away).
