#36: Marathon of Hope
There are a lot of inspiring stories out there, but Terry Fox’s is pretty unique. His journey began in 1980 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. Determined to make a difference for cancer patients, despite having only one leg due to his illness, he embarked on an ambitious mission. Terry set out to run an astounding 3,300 miles across Canada, all the while fundraising for cancer research.

His determination captured the hearts of many Canadians. Tragically, in June 1981, the cancer had spread to his lungs, claiming his life. However, Terry’s legacy endured. At the time of his passing, he had raised a remarkable $24 million, contributing significantly to cancer research and ultimately saving countless lives.
