#27: The Password Is ‘Password’
In 2014, the arrest of one of the world’s most wanted hackers, Jeremy Hammond, shocked many due to the simplicity of his downfall. Hammond’s password, which led to his capture, was remarkably uncomplicated – it was his cat’s name, “Chewey,” followed by ‘123’. You wouldn’t expect a skilled hacker to have such a shockingly obvious password, right?

This seemingly innocuous and easily guessable password allowed authorities to access his computer systems and apprehend him. Hammond’s case serves as a reminder of the importance of strong, unique passwords for online security, as even the most skilled hackers can be undone by weak password choices.
