#18: Post-Ceremony Cleaning
Weddings, universally celebrated across cultures, are occasions steeped in tradition and symbolism, each ceremony reflecting its community’s unique customs and values. In most societies, the wedding night is envisioned as a time of romance and intimacy, a special moment for the bride and groom to celebrate their union.

However, in the Amish community, this typical image of a wedding night is a bit different, deviating from the norm when it comes to post-ceremony celebrations. Instead of a night spent in romantic privacy, an Amish bride spends her first night as a married woman in her in-law’s house, where she participates in the act of cleaning.
