Bananaberries and Straw
Nope. We’ve drawn a line between what we understand and what we believe. If anyone tells us that bananas are technically berries, you’re technically going to get a whooping. And if anybody claims that strawberries aren’t berries, you’re off your rocker.

It turns out that scientists use arbitrary criteria to define things. For example, a berry is a fruit that stems from a flower that has a single ovary. Bananas and grapes fall into this definition, whereas strawberries and raspberries don’t. They come from plants that have more than one ovary. And we thought a berry was a fruit with the word berry in it. Next thing you know, you’ll discover that saber tooth tigers didn’t actually have curved blades popping out of their gums.
