Biological Sex
Biological sex, a fundamental aspect of an individual’s identity, is determined by genetic factors, and interestingly, it’s primarily influenced by genes inherited from the father’s side. While it’s well-known that babies inherit half of their DNA from each parent, the distribution of traits within this genetic material is not equal. Research has revealed that a person’s biological sex is established by the father’s genes, which hold dominance in this determination.

This dominance arises because the mother’s chromosomes are recessive in comparison to the father’s, and it’s these dominant paternal genes that play a central role in deciding an individual’s biological sex. It’s important to note that biological sex should not be conflated with gender identity, as many people may not identify with the sex assigned to them at birth, highlighting the complex interplay of biology and personal identity.
