#46: An Ominous Advertisement

This insurance ad from 1996 was probably meant as a joke. Well, thirty years have almost come to pass. It seems this magazine ad was more telling than we ever could have imagined. Not all of these prices are exactly what we pay these days, but they’re pretty close. 

A burger and fries really do cost $16 in some areas! This insurance company knew what they were talking about in this ad. Here’s hoping that people listened to their warnings and started shoring up their retirement accounts. A look back at history is a good reminder to learn lessons for the future.
