#38: Animation Rules
Name a more iconic animated duo than Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Exactly. You can’t! These two wacky characters were created by Chuck Jones. They debuted in a cartoon short called Fast and Furry-ous in 1949. The key to this duo’s success might be because of Chuck Jones’s very strict guidelines about how they were depicted.

This vintage sheet of nine rules acted as the basis for each and every cartoon short. You can easily gain insight into the logic behind the chaotic cartoon characters. The fact that gravity is Wile E. Coyote’s greatest enemy is all too relatable. Also, we love how the Road Runner can only harm Coyote by saying “beep-beep!”
