#56: Harry Potter: The Sorting Hat
This fan of Harry Potter noticed something really interesting about the students who get sorted into Gryffindor: many of them aren’t actually all that brave—the defining characteristic of Gryffindors—and at least two of them that we know of specifically asked to be put into the house.

So what if that is the defining characteristic—that Gryffindor is a house full of people brave enough to tell the Sorting Hat where they want to go and brave enough to choose a house where people seem to get in trouble a lot. I mean, look at the main trio and the Weasley twins—they were always mixed up in something or other.
