#37: Batman: The Joker

In the DC comics universe, The Caped Crusader has come up against a whole lot of villains in his time, but a few classics just keep cropping up: Two-Face. The Penguin. And perhaps most famously, the Joker, who has become a permanent fixture and commonly seen figure in the Batman universe.

The various comics, movies, and TV shows have provided a number of different origin stories for the Joker over the years. But here is a new, interesting take: what if it’s not so much a person as a toxin that infects people? It could explain a lot!
