Honey can potentially contain spores of Clostridium botulinum, which can produce a toxin that poses a risk to infants with underdeveloped digestive systems, causing a rare but severe condition known as infant botulism.

Parents should know that it’s also crucial not to rub a child with rubbing alcohol to reduce fever. Alcohol can be absorbed through the skin, leading to toxicity and other health risks. Instead, for fever relief in infants, it is advisable to consult a pediatrician and use age-appropriate fever-reducing medications or follow the healthcare provider’s guidance.
