In 1945, during a US Navy training over water, Flight 19, comprised of five planes, encountered a compass malfunction, leading to their disappearance. This unusual event marked a significant loss during a supposed routine exercise.

Despite radio attempts by confused pilots to locate Fort Lauderdale, all communication ceased, resulting in the loss of 14 men and five aircraft. The incident over the Bermuda Triangle remains an enigma, with no wreckage discovered, and the Navy declared it ‘Unknown.’
