#21: The Great Escape from Alcatraz
On June 11, 1962, John and Clarence Anglin and Frank Morris executed a daring escape from Alcatraz using simple cutlery. Over six months, they meticulously dug their way out of the high-security prison, achieving the unthinkable.

Using a homemade raft, the trio braved the treacherous waters surrounding Alcatraz, leaving dummies in their beds as decoys. It’s speculated they reached land and lived freely abroad. In 2013, a letter, allegedly from Anglin, bargaining his capture for medical care, surfaced.
