#15: Nick Offerman

This one’s got to be up there with banjo playing for unique and cool celebrity skills. The primary difference is that woodworking has a whole lot more practical uses. I wouldn’t have thought that Nick Offerman would be possessive of this particular skill, but now that I know he is, maybe he should take it up full-time.

There’s something so impressive about people who know how to take raw material, process it, work with it, and turn it into something both beautiful and useful. Mastering this is a much greater accomplishment than mastering the ability to make funny faces and voices to get a few laughs for a living.
