#10: Geena Davis

Maybe when you’re extraordinary at some things, you’re necessarily extraordinary at others. Maybe these people are all just extraordinary, and we’re the ordinary folks who will never be able to match up to them and will always have to look on admiringly from below, whether it’s in acting, archery, sailing, or singing.

Maybe there’s another list out there comprising a whole bunch of sportspeople and scientists who almost became world-class actors. At least in Geena Davis’ case, she chose an unexpected sport to be good at. Shooting arrows from bows isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so if you’re going to do it, you may as well be good at it.
