#31: Jam and Jelly
Creating jam or jelly involves cooking fruit with lots of sugar, posing significant health risks for diabetics. Consuming these sugary spreads can lead to spikes in blood sugar and potentially insulin resistance, making them foods to avoid.

Alternative no-sugar jams and jellies might seem like a safer option for diabetics, but often, the sugar is merely replaced with fructose. This substitution does little to diminish the health risks, keeping these products squarely on the ‘avoid’ list.
