#18: Processed Meats
Diabetics needn’t forgo all meats, yet steering clear of processed varieties is wise, particularly for those at risk or managing diabetes. Harvard University’s research highlights a 19% surge in type 2 diabetes risk with processed meat consumption due to high preservative and salt levels.

While diabetics can safely enjoy fresh meats, processed meats are best avoided. Not only do they elevate the risk of developing diabetes, but they also heighten insulin resistance in the body, marking them as detrimental to blood sugar management.
