During the Vietnam War, the U.S. military deployed ‘Agent Orange,’ a powerful defoliant, to eliminate the dense forests that Viet Cong guerrillas utilized for cover. This strategy, however, had long-term, devastating consequences. Post-war analyses revealed that Agent Orange was linked to severe health issues.

These issues included such things as tumors, birth defects, and other serious conditions affecting both veterans and the Vietnamese population. Decades later, the repercussions of its use are still evident, with new generations in Vietnam suffering from grave birth defects attributed to the chemical’s enduring presence in the environment.
