#54: Urban Legends

I’m not sure how people parented before 2009, but I can’t imagine long car rides without some kind of device to keep my kids happy and quiet. I know it happened, but I’m just thanking my lucky stars I don’t have to deal with it. If Dora the Explorer can prevent a full-on melt-down, then I’m going to let her.

Granted, our iPad did die once during a long ride. I’ve experienced the toddler apocalypse, and it is not pretty. We had to pull over and lay a whole “Santa is watching” lecture in the middle of July. Desperate times call for desperate measures! We now bring two fully charged battery packs with us if we’ll be on the road for more than four hours.
