Thank goodness mom wasn’t home. That doesn’t look like margarine. Nope, that looks like real deal butter, and that stuff is expensive! As a mom, I’d be cringing so hard and requesting they wrap it up in Saran Wrap so I could at least make cookies out of it later. Waste not, want not!

I should also point out that this is actually an effective way to soften butter for recipes that need it. If you forgot to lay your butter out, you can place it between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out with a rolling pin. Using a car tire is twice as effective, so long as you don’t damage the goods!
