Every Western Needs a Bartender
No classic Western town is complete without its beloved bartender, and in North Fork, that role was expertly portrayed by Bill Quinn. His character, Sweeny, made his debut in the episode ‘The Marshal’ and later found himself in a perilous situation when taken hostage by an escaped prisoner in ‘Seven.’ This allowed fans to glimpse into the barman’s personal life, introducing the character of Mrs. Sweeny.

Bill Quinn’s acting journey began in the silent film era of the 1920s, and his talent continued to shine through the decades. Beyond The Rifleman, he graced television screens in popular shows like McHale’s Navy, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Odd Couple, to name just a few. Over his remarkable seven-decade-long career, Quinn brought more than 150 different roles to life, leaving an indelible mark on the world of entertainment.
