Closing Time
To be honest, we don’t fully understand what “emotionally closed” means – I guess we’re not LA enough. It sounds like this might not be just an LA thing, though, but a universal experience for all people working in retail and the restaurant business. It’s a draining job, mentally and physically, having to deal with annoying customers all day.

So, when our shift finally comes to an end, when we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, we get to a point where we clocked off emotionally. Sure, officially the store closes only in 30 minutes, but emotionally, we’re already home in our pajamas, binging our favorite show.
