Sleeping Beauty

Have you ever seen a living sculpture before? I haven’t in person, but after seeing these images, I really want to! This particular sculpture illustrates a sleeping woman, and it was made with living things – such as plants – incorporated in the design. You’ll see what I mean; check out these two photos side by side.

Whether it’s winter, spring, summer, or fall, this statue grows and changes with the seasons. She’s got a mess of grass for hair when the weather’s nice and warm, and it all curls back and dies once winter comes and the snow falls. What a beautiful, creative way to incorporate the changing seasons into your art.
