In January 2024, Sunoco closed a significant sale, offloading 204 of its convenience stores, including those under the Stripes and Laredo Taco Company brands, to 7-Eleven for a cool $1 billion, granting 7-Eleven total control over these entities.

This deal marks a significant expansion for 7-Eleven in the regions of West Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, building on their initial $3.3 billion acquisition from Sunoco in 2018. The latest purchase brings 7-Eleven’s total to over 13,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
