The Pain of Loss

This person made an anonymous confession that made us tear up a little bit. Throughout their relationship with their girlfriend, they’ve always said that they don’t want a dog even though their girlfriend really wants one. Because of this, the girlfriend is convinced that they hate dogs. Turns out that is far from the truth.

This person actually loves dogs, but they’re afraid to get one because they know they will have to say goodbye forever one day. For them, the pain of losing one outweighs the joys of having a dog in their life, and that honestly makes us want to cry. We think this person should come clean and tell their girlfriend that this is the reason they never want a dog. We think she will understand.
