#26: Mike the Tiger

The Louisiana State Tigers are one of the best college football teams in the nation. They have a live mascot to prove it. Meet Mike the Tiger. He’s the university’s real-life “Fighting Tiger.” The school currently hosts Mike VII, which means there were six other tigers before him. This live mascot is even more unique because he actually lives on campus behind Tiger Stadium. 

Mike has a state-of-the-art enclosure featuring a waterfall, plenty of shade, and lots of room to roam. He’s well taken care of by the university’s School of Veterinary Medicine and lives a generally luxurious life. Mike makes in-person appearances from time to time. It’s said that they bring Mike out in a special pen so he can be near the visiting team’s locker room for some extra intimidation.
