#19: Sore Losers and Oklahoma Sooners

It’s never a good feeling when your favorite college football team loses a game. Everyone wants to win, but the outcome is always up in the air. That is unless you’re an Oklahoma Sooners fan. The Sooners hold the record for the longest winning streak in college football history. It’s no measly record. The Sooners’ winning streak lasted for 47 games. 

This incredible winning streak record was thanks in large part to the Sooners’ coach, Bud Wilkinson. Just three years before this record, he led the Sooners on a 31-game winning streak. It’s almost unheard of for one team to have such a long winning streak, much less two! As you can probably tell, Bud Wilkinson, who retired in the 60s, is considered one of the greatest coaches in college football history.
