No climbing this tree

From a distance, nobody could tell that they were looking at a cactus. Up close, you’ll see that its lush, green leaves are actually made up of thin, green appendages with spines. We guarantee you that if you build a treehouse on this cactus/tree, your house will be perfectly safe.

This particular cactus looks oddly similar to a candelabra tree, but these trees are native to Africa. You wouldn’t typically find them on the lawn of an apartment complex, even in Texas. This cactus grew so tall that its “trunk” even began forming bark. Is that common in cactus plants?
