Another deceitful cake

Do you remember that trend where bakers would make cakes look like non-cake objects? We’ve seen Coke bottle cakes, lemon-shaped cakes, and even dismembered appendages with a sweet buttercream frosting. But of all the non-cake-looking cakes in existence, this one is making our blood boil.

Grilled cheese is the perfect food, and you’re really playing with people’s emotions if you make a cake look like it. Someone could dip this cake into a bowl of tomato soup, hoping for a salty, gooey treat. But instead, their mouths are full of a sweet-and-tangy mess. Shame on you, pastry chef. You don’t do that to people!
