The Weight of the World
I’d never actually thought about it before, but even I, a lowly peon, use Excel quite often. I suppose I assumed that most businesses had their own spreadsheet software, but why would that be? No need to go out of their way for something that is so readily available and user-friendly (for the most part).

The foundation of the program is nearly 42 years old, with the basis invented by Dan Bricklin. The program was called VisiCalc, a game-changing electronic spreadsheet that made handling numbers so much easier. Douglas Klunder used it as the inspiration for Excel in 1985. The best part? He’s now a civil rights activist.
